JOHANNESBURG, Feb. 5 (Xinhua) -- South Africa's African National Congress (ANC)'s national working committee (NWC) is on Monday meeting at the Chief Albert Luthuli House, the party's headquarters, amid tight security outside.

The meeting is reportedly dealing with the crucial issue of whether President Jacob Zuma should remain in office as calls for his resignation mount.

Meanwhile, despite calls for Zuma to step down, he is reportedly adamant that he will deliver his State of the Nation address on Thursday.

Earlier, a number of Black First Land First members were beaten up by people believed to be loyal to ANC at their headquarters, according to local media reports.

At the same time, ANC secretary general Ace Magashule told supporters of President Zuma that their issues will be discussed.

"Actually, the NWC is meeting is underway now so I'll hand over the report. I'll brief them about your discipline," Magashule told a group of ANC supporters.
