MOSCOW, May 8 (Xinhua) -- Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will hold talks in Russia's Sochi on May 14, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov said Wednesday.

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) is a subject of their discussion, and Moscow and Washington "are in constant contact" on this issue, Morgulov told reporters.

In a phone conversation last week, Russian President Vladimir Putin informed his U.S. counterpart Donald Trump of the main results of his meeting with DPRK top leader Kim Jong Un in Russia's Vladivostok on April 25.

Putin told Trump that Pyongyang's "good-faith fulfillment of its commitments" should be accompanied by reciprocal steps to reduce the sanctions pressure on the DPRK.

According to the Kremlin, Putin and Trump agreed that it is important to consistently move along the path of denuclearization and achieve long-term normalization on the peninsula.
