LONDON, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- Graham Potter has been dismissed as West Ham manager after just eight months in charge, with the club sitting 19th in the Premier League.
Under the English coach, the Hammers managed only three points from their opening five league fixtures this season.
In a statement released Saturday morning, the east London side said they "believe that a change is necessary in order to help improve the team's position in the Premier League as soon as possible".
The club added: "Results and performances over the course of the second half of last season and the start of the 2025-26 season have not matched expectations."
Potter, 50, had been preparing for Monday night's trip to Everton and carried out his media duties on Friday, stating he felt he had the board's support following "positive talks." ■
