ISLAMABAD, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- At least eight people were killed and three others injured in a road accident in Panjgur district of Pakistan's southwest Balochistan province on Saturday, a rescue official told Xinhua.
According to a Rescue 1122 official, a pickup truck carrying fuel collided with a passenger bus on the main highway in Gomazin area of the district.
Both vehicles caught fire following the collision, leaving eight passengers burnt to death on the spot while three others were seriously wounded.
Police and rescue officials rushed to the site and shifted the charred bodies and the injured to a hospital, where an emergency was declared to handle the situation.
Authorities said the victims could not be immediately identified, while an investigation into the cause of the accident has been launched. ■
