YANGON, June 27 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar's agricultural expo, Agri-Tech Myanmar 2025, kicked off at the Yangon Convention Center on Friday.
The three-day event aims to strengthen Myanmar's agricultural sector by showcasing modern technologies, encouraging market linkages, and creating business opportunities, U Zarni, an event organizer, told Xinhua.
The event features 125 exhibition booths, including 27 agricultural-related companies and 61 food and beverage companies, among others, he said.
Among the exhibitors, Right Time Mechanism Company demonstrated a Chinese-manufactured rice color sorter.
"This machine can sort around 4 tons of rice per hour and is controlled via smartphone. It's efficient, cost-effective, and has attracted attention from rice mill owners and exporters," said Min Htet, a company representative.
From Mandalay, Mandalar Shwethiha Company presented locally made gasifiers and corn dryer machines. "This expo is a valuable platform to meet with fellow entrepreneurs and expand our customer base," a company official said.
Visitors also expressed strong interest in the technologies and business opportunities on display.
"I came here to explore machines that could benefit my business, such as milling equipment and cool storage systems. It's an eye-opening experience. I hope more expos like this are held, as they're truly beneficial for business owners like me," said Sai Lwin Aung, 31, a restaurant owner.
U Than Win, 64, who runs an animal feed factory, attended the expo every year. "This time, I am interested in laboratory equipment for chemical analysis, including tools for protein testing. The expo is also a good place to network and build connections."
The expo runs until June 29, and also features special programs, including seminars on agriculture and post-harvest practices, product introductions by exhibitors, and special sales of agricultural products, according to the event organizer. ■
