ALMATY, June 27 (Xinhua) -- Kazakhstan has completed the evacuation of its nationals from Israel and Iran amid heightened regional tensions, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry announced Friday, according to the Kazinform News Agency.
On June 25, the Kazakh embassies in Israel and Egypt facilitated the evacuation of 37 people, including 13 citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Russia. The evacuees arrived safely in Kazakhstan aboard a flight of SCAT Airlines from Cairo to Shymkent on June 26.
According to the ministry, a total of 103 people have been evacuated from Israel. From Iran, 233 individuals were evacuated with the support of Kazakh embassies in Tehran, Ashgabat, Baku, and Yerevan. Among them, 135 exited via Turkmenistan, 25 via Azerbaijan, and 73 via Armenia.
Between June 24 and 27, approximately 1,900 Kazakh nationals were also repatriated from Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), with assistance from Kazakhstan's diplomatic missions in those countries.
The Foreign Ministry expressed its sincere appreciation to the governments of Iran, Israel, Turkmenistan, Egypt, Azerbaijan, Armenia, the UAE, and Qatar for their swift cooperation and support in ensuring the safe return of Kazakhstan's citizens.
The ministry added that it continues to closely monitor the regional situation and stands ready to provide consular assistance around the clock. ■
