VIENTIANE, June 27 (Xinhua) -- Representatives from the Lao capital Vientiane and Guiyang city in southwest China's Guizhou Province met here to explore opportunities for economic and trade cooperation.

Speaking at the event, Wang Hong, mayor of Guiyang, said that China and Laos are good neighbors, good friends, good comrades, and good partners. He expressed hope for expanded economic and trade exchanges between the two cities.

Sililaththongsin Thongpheng, deputy governor of Vientiane, expressed hope that Vientiane and Guiyang would further strengthen cooperation, and explore trade opportunities.

The two sides signed seven cooperation agreements in such areas as trade and tourism. ■
